California Drivers Ed
One thing that should make all parents happy is that a new rule has been established allowing teens to take driver education online in California. It doesn´t matter if you live in a big city like Los Angeles or Sacramento, or if you reside in a small cow town like Auburn, this same rule applies all across the state to California residents. The great thing about taking driver education online is that it enables you to enjoy a boat load of benefits.
The law says that you must be at least fifteen and a half years old to apply for a learner´s permit to drive. In order for you to obtain this permit, you must first complete the first portion of the California drivers ed curriculum. The best thing to do is enroll in a state approved California driver education course when you first turn fifteen. By the time the teen turns fifteen and a half, they should have the first section of the program completed. The driver education course first starts off with a six hour tutorial about crucial information about the rules of the road, California specific driving laws, and general driving safety tips. Once you complete this section, you can then apply for a learner´s permit at age fifteen and a half.
There are great advantages of doing this for both the teen and the parent. The teen can work at their own pace while the parent can help out. The teenager can also work whenever they have free time and the helpful parent can watch over and make sure that all the work is being properly assessed and being done in a timely manner. Basically the parent has control over the teen and can allow their child to start driving when they feel completely sure they are ready to get behind the wheel.
